True Love

True love enlightens
and lifts the soul
Makes us feel comfort
and helps us feel whole

We can't live without it
and feel empty when it's gone
As we give our love sincerely
we are filled and we are strong

So often we run
or even feel scared
When finding this sacred love
that can renew when shared

But cling to love we must
take it in and grow
Trust in the healing

She thought to herself, as she drove away
I'm moving on to a better life, seeking a brighter way
The tears came quickly, as she thought of her loss
Breaking up is hard, but the alternative has a greater cost

Oh, young love, how it twists and turns
Our emotions are raw, and it deeply burns
We find new love and it starts again
Will this one last, we question as it begins

Believe in love
Hold on to love
Give your love

Love can come quickly, and hopefully it stays
We feel of its warmth, like the bright sun ray
We make the commitment, and sometimes we're let down
Yet other times it's the anchor, that keeps us on solid ground

Love through the journey, it will enrich our lives
Keep the flame burning, by following the light
Be brave, let go, when you know you should

If I were, to make a plea

It would be to my Savior, and only he

My plea therefore, is this

Refine me, and fill me with bliss

May I be gentler, in my way

Letting thy light, be my ray

Seeking thy peace, throughout the day

Giving to others, and being selfless, I pray

Help me heal, and be content

Filled with peace, and truly repent

He was twenty two, she was just twenty
Living on nothing as they have little money
But there was love

Just starting out, their life so new together
A baby on the way and life's stormy weather
But there was love

Life seems so short when the moments flee
We wonder why so fast, it has to be
But there was love

When memories come, they help us know
We've treasured everything, even bumps in the road
Yes there was love

Fifteen years later, they went so quickly
Their daughters growing up, she's just so pretty
And there was love

Homecoming queen, then off to college
Their baby is gone to gain more knowledge
And there was love

Life seems so short when the moments flee
We wonder why so fast, it has to be
But there was love

When memories come, they help us know
We've treasured everything, even bumps in the road

Graduation, marriage, then a new grand baby
Kindergarten, high school, now granddaughters a lady
Because there was love

Grandma passes, then grandpa too
Their legacy, life's lessons and loyalty true
Because their was love
